Saint John community events take a creative turn this winter as the CAM Institute of Design hosts the Global Game Jam, transforming its Crown Street campus into a high-energy innovation hub for game designers, artists, programmers, and storytellers. As the official Saint John site for this global event, CAM is bringing international creative momentum directly into the local community.
The Global Game Jam is a worldwide creative challenge that brings people together for 72 hours of intense collaboration, experimentation, and play. Participants receive a surprise theme and work in teams to design, build, and launch a fully playable game—often with people they’ve just met.
By hosting the event, CAM Institute of Design is strengthening Saint John’s growing reputation as a centre for digital creativity, game design, and collaborative innovation. Beyond the games themselves, the weekend fosters confidence, community, and the courage to keep building long after the jam ends.
